Well, I’m no longer making plastic bottles.
We’ll have to see what I can find to do now.
It was a full week at work, complete with having a hammer drop on my foot, and having one of the stainless steel molds drop on my hand. No bones broken though, in either case Praise the Lord! I am a little concerned about the way training is going though, so I’ll just jump right in all this week and pray I don’t break one of the machines if there is no one around to make sure I’m fixing it correctly. True to what they said, it does look like I will be working between 50 and 60 hours a week on a regular basis, possibly more with Summer fast approaching. All in all, I’m pretty sure I made the correct choice in deciding to accept this position rather than go to Taiwan.
We had a good deal of fun and blessings at RU last night. Finishing out with a baby shower for one of the ladies that is expecting a new arrival soon. This was after a good message by Richard, and actually, even this weeks principle was spot on for what I needed. Number 7, ’sinful habits do hurt those who are following us’. Truthfully, none of us are in a vacuum; there are people counting on us and following us. The decision is: are we going to let our behavior hurt them or help them?
Just a little something to think about.
For anyone who reads this blog, and has not noted on a forum that I am still stateside, here it is. The trip to Taiwan didn’t pan out as expected. The details are a little sketchy for me, but the short of it is that I was offered a position at the local Plastipak factory while I was waiting for my passport to arrive. Soooo.. I accepted the offer. The wages are fair though not what I would have made in Taipei, and I get to stay here with my family, instead of relocating and batching it for 6 months. Now I get to learn new machinery and a whole new industry, which should be pretty fun.
Now I just need to finish sorting out my manuscript for the letter to the churches that I am writing. Who knows, it might get done this decade if I push it. ![]()
Still waiting on word for the job in Taiwan, hopefully it will come in soon so the logistics are not such a scramble. Meanwhile I’ll be sorting out the details for a trip so that it won’t catch me short when it happens.
